Gaming Month Ahead – June 2013

We’re already near the half way point of the year. E3 takes place this month and I’m sure a lot of people will be watching to see how the PS4 and Xbone shape up in terms of launch titles. Current gen is far from done however and there are a number of quality titles out this month.

In the first two weeks we have to big titles that I can’t really say much about. Capcom’s Remember Me and Naughty Dog’s PS3 Exclusive The Last of Us both look like excellent games. In fact they look so excellent and interesting that I didn’t really feel the need to look any further. I haven’t seen any trailers, first 15-minutes or playthroughs of either titles – nothing beyond their initial reveals. And that’s mostly because I would still like to experience that mystery of playing a game without knowing anything about it once in a while. It’s become increasingly harder with the internet and wide-spread proliferation of information. Still, just in case you’d like to know more – read on to see some links to videos I haven’t watched.

Were those trailers any good? I dunno – I didn’t watch them. So long as the Remember Me trailer didn’t link to some awful film with Cedric Diggory, everything’s okay. Anyway, the month closes out with the interesting looking Deadpool and the bearded Lost Planet 3. Deadpool has promise on the strength of its lead alone, but the quality of the game remains to be seen. Lost Planet 3 has to make up for the rather woeful Lost Planet 2. Hopefully the single player will actually be a single player this time, rather than a boring reflection of multiplayer. Also likely worthy of note is State of Decay, the XBLA title is out at the start of the month offering zombies and more ways to deal with them!
