The Gaming Month Ahead – November

That’s right, it’s that time again. It’s basically Christmas and all the publishers are rushing their products to store shelves in the vain hope that you might pick their game as a gift for someone. It’s also the time that most publishers try to avoid – COD time!

But it’s not all doom and gloom – in fact there’s a lot of really good titles out this month. The first few days of the month see Need for Speed: Most Wanted – which is basically Burnout: Paradise with real cars. If that’s what you wanted, then this is most certainly for you. It’s a well polished product, even if it doesn’t really resemble the gameplay of previous Need for Speeds. Then of course there is Halo 4. I’m sure many are doubting if 343 can match Bungee’s pedigree and make a game as good as reach, but we can hope right? It certainly looks better than any previous Halo, and is packed full features. I didn’t really want to get my hopes up, but I am expecting a lot out of 343 and Halo 4!

Another game I’m expected a lot from is Far Cry 3 – releasing at the tail end of the month, Far Cry 3 promises awesome open world action, a story about discovering your darker, violent side without needing to be sexually assaulted and a massive co-op campaign to boot.

Oh and there’s a console called the Wii U out at the end of the month with a bunch of games releasing alongside 🙂 It has a great looking launch line-up if you haven’t been playing on any of the current gen consoles or PC lately – but very few decent looking exclusives. I’m still hugely sceptical about the dual screen shenanigans too.

Vita is getting a huge load of games this month. COD Black Ops and PlayStation All-Stars release among many others. Hitman Absolution and its sexy nuns also releases on the 20th. And I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that ZOE: HD collection is coming out and it looks terrible. It comes in on PS3 and X360 at a sub-HD resolution (well that’s what it looked like!) and barely 30fps. It’s nothing like the awesome Metal Gear HD collection, which did a fantastic job upgrading MGS2 and Snake Eater.
