The Gaming Month Ahead – June

Well we’re well into summer now. I hope you’re all still playing Diablo 3 or Max Payne 3, because unless you own a Vita, this month is a little barren for must-haves. With that said, let’s start with the Vita. There hasn’t been much for Sony’s shiny little handheld for a while, but this month see’s three – count them, three, awesome titles. Resistance: Burning Skies, Gravity Rush and Metal Gear Solid Collection should liven things up a little for Vita owners certainly.

Elsewhere there are the obligatory Olympics tie-in, Amazing Spider Man tie-in and LEGO Batman 2 releasing across lots of platforms. Those looking for zombie-killing action will be satiated by the release of Lollipop Chainsaw, which promises Suda 51’s (No More Heroes, Shadows of the Damned) usual brand of madness – and PS3 owners also get Resident Evil Chronicles HD, ported over from the Wii releases of old.

Game of Thrones hopes to cash in on the popular series better than the PC only Game of Thrones Genesis did. Then there’s a classic trilogy getting a HD makeover with Ratchet and Clank Trilogy releasing early on the in the month on PS3. Finally Secret World releases on PC, promising something a little different to the usual MMO fare by putting players in a more contemporary setting and eschewing traditional models of experience and levelling up.
