Oscar Araujo wins the IFMCA award for Castlevania

Have a listen…and then put your hands together (now move them apart, and then back together…and keep doing that quickly) Castlevania: Lords of Shadow has won an award for Best Original Score For a Video Game or Interative Media. The Film Music Critics Association rightly recognises the legitamacy of video games in the entertainment industy and awards a nice prize to Oscar Araujo this year for Castlevania’s awesome soundtrack. While it’s a little bit puzzling why it was going up against games like Dark Void, Lego Universe and 007 Blood Stone – instead of Jack Wall’s awesome Mass Effect 2 score, Gerard Marino’s powerful God of War 3 ost or Martin O’Donnell’s fitting Halo: Reach soundtrack – it’s still nice to see video games infusing themselves into the conciousness of respected authorities.

If you haven’t yet played Castlevania – then be ashamed of yourself and go play it! It is afterall Dantelockload’s only Platinum (not exactly the easiest platinum either) and despite a slightly threadbare story, the gameplay is brilliant and it sports some of the best graphics on the X360.
