The darkness is making a return, 2k Games have announced The Darkness II for this fall on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and the PC (nice to see PC getting some love lately :P)
The sequel follows hitman Jackie Estacado two years after the evens of The Darkness, at the moment there is hardly any information on the story apart from its being penned by Paul Jenkins who worked on the original and the comic books. I think this has to be the greatest bit of news and 2k games calls it “quad-wielding.” which allows you to use your dual guns along with your Demon Arms of darkness! at the same time how awesome is that?!
On the developer side it looks like Starbreeze won’t be working on this one which is a shame as they did a great job on the first game, Digital Extremes will be taking over the sequel (They did Dark Sector which is also a good game)

Darkness was a great game, Deadman told me to get it. I found it hard at times but then I figured out that was because I was running around in the light 😛
I really enjoyed The Darkness. It felt very different from most FPS games and had a really compelling story. Plus it had Mike Patton :D. Loved the ending sequence!
Best Game of 2007! i still meant to replay this on hard.
