The Gaming Month Ahead – September

September
The game drought is finally over. After a very empty August, September brings with it school kids on the roads again and good games back on the shelves…only one of those is a good thing. The headlining game this month is Halo: Reach out on the 360 on the 14th (which is a tuesday). After the rather experimental and dismal ODST, it’s nice to see Halo back doing what it ought to be doing and I can honestly say I’m looking forward to some good old fashioned alien killing in the campaign mode once again. The forge editor gets lots of advancements over Halo 3 and a Battlefield style class system is looking to shake up multiplayer a little.

Playstation 3 doesn’t really have a headlining title, but it’s new control system come out this month. The Playstation Move is out on the 17th with a slew of games with it. Most of them look a little too casual for most gamers, but Socom is also out and the Sports Champions game was ruddy great fun when I tried it out. PSP gets a lotta love this month too with Ace Combat, Valkyria Chronicles 2, Kingdom Hearts and Phantasy Star Portable 2 all out. Mutliplatform wise Dead Rising 2, Front Mission Evolved and Two Worlds 2 look like the main highlights of the month.

The weeks are only going to be becoming more packed as we start to plunge headlong into autumn/winter. Halo: Reach and Kingdom Hearts are the only games I’m certain to get this month, although Front Mission Evolved and Two Worlds 2 are games I certainly want to try out too. Take a look at the list and see what games this month are on your shopping list.

Hmm, still a quiet month for me personally. Not bothered by Move at all at the current time, and Halo has never really floated my boat either. Might have a look at F1, but then if I apply the ‘Wait a little bit for the price to drop’ theory of game buying, I most likely won’t buy it .

So another month of catching up with stuff for me before everything goes batshit crazy come October.

Hang on isn’t the 360 Bad company 2 ultimate edition out already? Or is it only in certain shops?

It’s out in game at least. BFBC2 with onslaught mode, the VIP stuff and BF1943 included.

      1. Haify says:

Is it same price? as it seems you basically get onslaught and BF1943 free which isn’t bad. But they really need to hurry and release the Vietnam expansion as that does look sweet.

Nothing for me this month will probly just look for some bargins to get me threw the month haha but the spiderman game is looking intreasting.
