The Gaming Month Ahead In Europe – March

on

A nice weighty offering this month as several of the years big hitters come out to get in just before the end of the tax-year. The biggest is far and away Final Fantasy XIII (as dantelockload would no doubt agree) coming out on the irregular day of Tuesday, FFXIII promises to give us what we’ve been missing for the last four years, another Final Fantasy game. After the slightly lackluster offering of JPRG’s we’ve had on the current gen, it’ll be a treat to (hopefully) see how it’s meant to be done. If that wasn’t enough RPG for you, Resonance of Fate‘s turn-based gun-slinging RPG comes out at the end of the month along with the less well known Last Rebellion from the guys who brought you Disgaea.

Those who aren’t really into RPG’s need not fear however, as there are more than enough other kinds of games. Headed by the fearsome PS3 exclusive of God of War 3. Everyone no doubt has now played the old E3 demo, which was only just recently put up on the PSN store; and even a demo that old still manages to amaze and dazzle with its gore and graphics. The multi-platform titan of Bad Company 2 also rears its head at the start of the month, promising to give Modern Warfare 2 a run for its money. Other games worthy of mention include Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver on the DS, Yakuza 3 on the PS3 and Blazblue: Calamity Trigger for you fighting fanatics out there (Well those that haven’t already imported it)

That’s a lot of games – and that’s not even including the usual dredge like Defending De’ Penguin on Wii or Trainz Deluxe 2 on PC. There’s certainly more games that I have time for and it’s gonna be a hard job to narrow that list down to the three or four I purchase this month. FFXIII, God of War 3 and Yakuza 3 are all on my must-buys. But Bad Company 2, Resident Evil 5 Gold and Last Rebellion are all very tempting as well…What are you looking forward to this month?
